Determination of Phytophthora Species Causing Root and Crown Rot on Tomatoes Grown in Antalya Province and Reactions of Some Tomato Genotypes against Phytophthora nicotianae

Antalya province is the main center of vegetable production in Türkiye. Tomato comes first terms crops cultivated under greenhouse. Phytophthora species causing root and crown rot are among factors negatively affecting tomato yield quality. This research aimed to determine prevalence tomatoes grown identify disease. During surveys performed 170 greenhouses, plant soil samples were taken from areas where rot, stem blight, drying symptoms observed. Disease incidence investigated greenhouses 25.88% 4.87%, respectively. not observed Demre Kepez districts, while highest disease was found Elmalı district with 75%. Eighty 84 isolates identified as P. nicotianae four capsici, according their cultural, morphological molecular characterisation. Virulence 18 selected determined by using inoculation technique all caused lesions different lengths on stems. The reactions 22 genotypes gene pool BATEM against also genotype DT-15 most susceptible largest lesions, A-286 resistant genotype. study formed basis for further studies breeding integrated management.
